Cherry & Alex’s Hunter Valley Wedding
Alex and Cherry are the sweetest couple! Cherry shared with us that they were actually in the same kindergarten in Hong Kong, yet somehow they and their parents never met, she and Alex ended up meeting almost a decade ago at University and not long after graduation they fell in love! 6 years after that Alex proposed to Cherry with 100 chicken nuggets… Cherry, you need to share the story behind the nuggets with us as that is one big maccas order!!!
Getting Ready
Cherry & Alex got ready at the Mecure Resort in separate rooms, there was a lot of excitement buzzing around the halls of the hotel that morning and a lot of willpower taken not to check in on each other!
I Do: The Ceremony
Before the ceremony began, Cherry and Alex held a tea ceremony, which is a Chinese wedding tradition for the couple to honour their elders by serving them tea. This was a lovely way for them to honour their heritage and their families.
Following the tea ceremony, the wedding ceremony was held in the Hunter Valley Gardens chapel, complete with their dog Pebbles there to run down the isle to meet Alex!
Post-Ceremony Photoshoot
Hunter Valley Gardens offers couples a world of options for a wedding ceremony as they have 10 different internationally themed gardens. We were spoilt for choice when it came to taking Cherry & Alex’s bridal portraits!
The sunset was also so beautiful, it really set the scene for some gorgeous shots.
Eat, Drink, and Be Married: The Reception
The reception was held in a room beautifully decorated with draping and fairy lights. The newlyweds celebrated their wedding evening with heartfelt speeches, dancing and the prettiest donught cake!
The Power of Moments
Every wedding is unique, but they all share one thing in common - they're filled with moments. Big moments, small moments, loud moments, quiet moments.
